Carpet Cleaning and Repair by Perfect One Clean in Leawood, Ks
We provide carpet cleaning services in Olathe, Overland Park, Shawnee, Lexexa, and Kansas City, Ks. Our services include carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, and hardwood floor cleaning. Some of our referral partners include restoration companies that need us to come in after disasters and steam clean the flooring that has been damaged. In these cases we also have to do repairs like new tac strip, repairing carpet and stretching back carpet. We got called to a house in Leawood,Ks that had water damage in the basement. After the restoration company dried out the basement we were called in to replace pad, tac strip, and stretch the carpet back. Once we got everything put back we steam cleaned the carpet. It wasn't a big job but we still do our 12 step carpet cleaning system to provide the very best service.
Along with our steam cleaning services we are also able to provide these specialty service for our customers. In some water damage instances it is also necessary to steam clean the concrete floor. This usually has to occur if the water source came in from the outside, because of the contaminants in the water. It is very important to know not to skip any steps when restoring a property from a water damage loss. Over the years we have seen people that try to dry out their basement or restore the flooring themselves and this always results in more problems than what they began with. In some cases home owners do not have flood insurance and can not afford to have complete restoration done. So to this I advise to at least get the water extracted by a professional cleaning company with a truck mounted unit and discard any wet pad. If the customer can afford air movers and dehumidifiers for a couple of days even better. Bottom line is no matter how big or small the job do not skip the proper steps. Rules for removing pet stains and odors form your carpet.
Perfect
One Clean has been in the carpet cleaning business now for over 10
years serving Olathe, Lenexa, Overland Park, Spring Hill, Shawnee and
other surrounding cities in the Kansas City metro area. The majority of
the calls we receive are due to pet urine stains and odor. The
process of removing pet stains and odors can be very tricky due to all
the products that our available to home owners. The majority of these
products for removing pet odors simply makes the urine odor worse. In
other words these store bought carpet products are a carpet cleaners
nightmare. Most pet owners, when they see their pet has had an accident
on the carpet, will run to the cabinet and grab a bottle of carpet stain
remover and blast away on the pet stain. If this process continues over
and over in one room, the urine odor can become very
strong.
At this point it no longer is a carpet cleaning job, but a restoration
job. Steam cleaning carpets that have severe pet damage can make the
odor worse if you do not address the urine issue first. We recently had a
pet urine call from Overland Park, Kansas where the homeowner had been
putting an enzyme on the pet stains every time his pet had an accident.
The smell was so bad that he went and rented a Rug Doctor thinking that
would help, but all it did was make it worse. Finally, he called us and
we were able to salvage the carpet which was only a year old.
When
a pet stain is fresh, its ph level is about a 5 or a 6 this is the time
to address the issue. If the pet stain sits for to long its ph level
can go from a 5 or 6 to "alkaline" 10 to 12 on the ph scale. Once it
reaches this level it becomes more difficult to remove. If left for days
or longer pet urine begins to change the dye structure of the carpet
making the stain permanent.
The
salts and crystals left behind as the urine dries draw moisture to
them. So in the summer months when the humidity is high the salts
attract the moisture in the air. This can cause the odor to become worse
as the ammonia gas is released as the moisture evaporates.
Here
are some Do-it-yourself tips from Jordan Owens, Perfect One Cleans
Operations Manager and IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and
Restoration Certification) certified technician.
